Web Internship

The Web (aka Web Applications) intern will assist the GriffinWink web team in various web development, design, and deployment tasks. The Web Intern will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of web work from the earliest concept discussions, design, and build-out through the final go-live processes for our sites.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design and create mockups for websites and applications
  • Develop mobile, tablet, and desktop layouts
  • Make websites, apps, and other media stand out by creating branding and identity systems
  • Develop unique icons, visual elements, and logos
  • Design and develop WordPress themes customized to GriffinWink’s needs
  • Ensure that website visual elements are implemented in collaboration with developers
  • Identify and evaluate new trends in design and industry
  • Define and maintain design standards and best practices in collaboration with the web and production teams
  • Provide guidance on how the architecture of a website should evolve

Basic Qualifications:

Below are the qualifications expected of a web designer:

  • Knowledge of content management systems and industry trends
  • A working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, PHP, and JavaScript preferred
  • Ability to understand the arrangement of elements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on
  • Coursework or working knowledge in design or a related field is required
  • Working experience as a graphic designer or in a related field
  • Possess a strong portfolio of graphic design work that demonstrates proven skills
  • Working knowledge of the required desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  • A keen eye for design and composition
  • The ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • A working understanding of marketing, production, web design, branding, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia
  • Skills and experience in computer-aided and artificial intelligence design

Preferably, you should understand the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment.
